After a long wait we were very excited to organise and host our first ever Distinguished Gentleman's Ride on Sunday 19th May 2024. Over 80 people participated and at the time of writing we are thrilled to announce we have just passed £10,000 of funds raised for the Movember foundation. The Movember foundation helps fund work for prostate cancer and men's mental health work, so we are delighted to have contributed to these very worthy causes.
Thank you to everyone who took part and helped to make it a memorable day. A special mention must go to Alan, who was our highest fundraiser with an incredible effort raising over £3,500. There were some other great efforts too and every one who contributed is very much appreciated. Among several prizes given out on the day (best dressed, highest fundraiser ETC) we also had an incredible result for "furthest travelled"; which was won by Steve who had come all the way from Devon to take part!
We have already taken enquiries for next year and we are pleased to let you know we plan to host our second DGR in 2025. We will be aiming to make it even bigger and better than our first, so watch this space. More details will be released much nearer the event, so there is plenty of time to pick out something dapper to wear and great to ride.
